This black Chevrolet Corvette C4 project car with automatic transmission was last registered in Oakland, California. It was damaged at the right rear fender and should be considered a project car.
The damage to the fibreglass body would be fairly easy to repair with fibreglass mats and resin. The rest of the body panels show heavily weathered paint, making it time to get this car a thorough sand down and repaint.
The chassis is straight and solid and shows no signs of previous damage. At the rear, the spare wheel and its storage tray are missing. Also, the air duct lip below the front bumper is damaged.
The Tuned Port V8 runs nicely and performs well, although at cold start it needs a bit of support from the accelerator pedal. It received a recent oil change in the US and passed California emissions inspection in 2021, at 74.689 mls. Current mileage is 74.690. The VIN report shows no recorded damage or other issues and mileage entries are logically ascending.
It would be adviseable to give the Corvette at least a thorough service check up before putting it back to use. Valve cover gaskets are sweating some oil onto the exhaust manifold. The oil pan has a dent at the front.
The Corvette’s interior needs to be renovated. The leather seat upholstery is was likely protected with seat covers and could be either reconditioned or replaced. Carpets are worn, especially at the rear luggage compartment. Unfortunately, the digital dashboard is not working and should be repaired or replaced. Other electrical work is to be expected: some plastic switches should be replaced and the headlight mechanism does not work. The car has a transparent removable targa roof.
This black C4 Corvette is an interesting project car at an unbeatable price.
